Showcase Camp for the College-Bound American Legion Baseball Player

Without question, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana have some fantastic, talented baseball players in high school.  Most of these athletes have been playing since they were five years old, playing T-ball in a Parks & Rec program.  Now they’re thinking about their future, and perhaps wondering if they could play baseball in college.  Unfortunately, because we live in states without big cities, in communities that are isolated, it is hard to get noticed by college recruiters.  Particularly in Wyoming, where there is no high school baseball program and no baseball program at the University of Wyoming, it is difficult for baseball players to receive any recognition.

Jackson Hole Youth Baseball is excited to tell you that this summer we will be hosting a Showcase Camp for the College-Bound American Legion Baseball Player and we hope your players will consider attending.  We are thrilled with the credentials of the three coaches who will be conducting the camp.  They all have spent their lives in baseball and have long experience in hosting baseball camps.  Two are head coaches of successful college programs and one has worked as a scout for the last twelve years.  In addition to great baseball instruction, there will be a discussion about the college recruiting process and a time for players and parents to ask questions about college baseball.  Each camper will receive a written evaluation of their skills which can serve as an introduction to the coaching staff of the college or university where a player would like to pursue his education and perhaps continue playing baseball.

We have arranged the camp to be following the 4th of July weekend.  Jackson has many festivities for Independence Day including a parade at the town square, a free afternoon concert by the Grand Teton Music Festival and evening fireworks set off at Snow King Mountain.  Baseball families may want to consider spending the holiday weekend in Jackson and then remain for the camp.  Others can continue their family traditions and then come to Jackson for the camp which will be held Sunday and Monday, July 6th and 7th.  For younger siblings, we are offering a Skills Camp for 13-15 year olds from 9am – 12pm, on Sunday, July 6th for $75/person.  The Showcase Camp will begin at 1PM on Sunday and the fee will be $175 for two days.  This will be during the height of the summer season, so please make a decision as soon as possible to ensure that you can book accommodations.  Blocks of rooms are being held at two hotels and will be released on JUNE 1.  Camp sites are also available in Grand Teton National Park and a limited number of campers can stay with host families.

Please distribute the following flyers to your baseball team.  We hope to see you at our Showcase Camp for the College-Bound American Legion Baseball Player.
