The Jackson Hole Giants American Legion Baseball team dropped a couple of games to the Cody Cubs on Wednesday night at Giants Field, losing the first 12 – 2 with the ten-run mercy rule invoked after five innings. The second game ended with a 10-6 score. The Giants tied it at six in the bottom half of the sixth but the Cubs put up four in the seventh then held Jackson to take the game. Ethan Moulder, on in relief of Patrick Renz in the sixth, took the loss, giving up four runs on seven hits. Cody pounded out 13 hits in the game, including two home runs in the third. Jackson had only five hits scattered throughout the game. In the opener, Andy Renz started and took the loss, giving up eight runs on five hits in two and two-thirds innings, but was victimized by five Jackson errors. Dylan White pitched the final two and one-third innings. Cody touched the Jackson pitchers for 10 hits in the first game. The Giants are now 5-2 overall and 1-2 in Northwest Conference play, with the non-conferenece Riverton Raiders coming to town for a double header beginning at noon on Sunday at Giants Field.
