Post 43 Giants 18U Wins Back-And-Forth Affair Against Madison

 

Post 43 Giants 18U and Madison played a taut affair on Friday, but Post 43 Giants 18U eventually prevailed 15-9 after taking the lead for good in the fourth inning. The game was tied at nine with Post 43 Giants 18U batting in the bottom of the fourth when Matt Ellingson singled off of #34, driving in one run.

Aaron Villa collected four hits in five at bats to help lead Post 43 Giants 18U to victory. Villa singled in the first, singled in the second, singled in the third, and singled in the fourth.

After the Post 43 Giants 18U took an early lead in the first inning, Clayton Campbell singled on a 3-2 count scoring one run.

Post 43 Giants 18U took the lead for good with six runs in the fourth inning.  Seth Christiansen singled off of #34, driving in one run, Villa singled off of #34, driving in two runs, and there was an error, scoring two runs.

Madison scored eight runs in the second inning.  This big inning was fueled with a single by #24, an error, a single by #25, a walk by #12, another error, and a single by #5.

Gus Armijo earned the win for Post 43 Giants 18U. He went four and two-thirds innings, surrendering one run, one hit, and striking out one.

Christiansen started the game for Post 43 Giants 18U. He tossed one and one-third innings, surrendering eight runs, eight hits, and walking one.

Post 43 Giants 18U had 17 hits in the game. Villa, Christiansen, Matt Ellingson, Quentin Bruno, and Brian Feuz each collected multiple hits.

Madison collected nine hits. #5 and #25 each collected multiple hits. On a hot streak, #5 led Madison with three hits in three at bats.
