Two Post 43 Giants 18U Pitchers Team Up In Shutout Victory Against Rock Springs

Post 43 Giants 18U defeated Rock Springs 9-0 on Sunday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Aaron Moya induced a fly out from #2 to finish off the game.

Post 43 Giants 18U secured the victory thanks to six runs in the sixth inning. The rally was led by a triple by Matt Ellingson, a single by Will Walker, a sacrifice fly by Connor Lang, a home run by Javen King, and a groundout by Evan McHugh.

Post 43 Giants 18U fired up the offense in the first inning. Gus Armijo grounded out, scoring one run.

Post 43 Giants 18U scored six runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught by Post 43 Giants 18U was led by Walker, Lang, Ellingson, McHugh, and King, all knocking in runs in the inning.

A single by #4 in the third inning was a positive for Rock Springs.

Quentin Bruno earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Post 43 Giants 18U. He lasted five innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out seven and walking one. Moya threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

#1 led things off on the hill for Rock Springs. He surrendered two runs on three hits over three innings, striking out four. #20, #7, and #11 each contributed in relief for Rock Springs.

Post 43 Giants 18U racked up 11 hits in the game. King, Ellingson, and Walker each had multiple hits for Post 43 Giants 18U. King went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Post 43  Giants 18U in hits. Post 43 Giants 18U tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Ellingson led the way with two. Post 43 Giants 18U didn’t commit a single error in the field. Walker had the most chances in the field with eight.
