Post 43 Giants 18U Clinches Lead In Fifth Inning For Victory Over Green River

Post 43 Giants 18U took the lead late and defeated Green River 11-5 on Sunday. The game was tied at three with the Giants batting in the top of the fifth when Anthony Bleggi singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Green River scored three runs in the fourth inning, but Post 43 still managed to pull out the victory. Green River scored its runs on a home run by #30.

The Giants fired up the offense in the first inning. Brian Feuz singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.

Green River evened things up at three in the bottom of the fourth inning when #30 homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs.

Post 43 tallied four runs in the seventh inning. Gus Armijo, Will Walker, Jon Fisher, and Matt Ellingson all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Quentin Bruno got the win for the Giants. He surrendered three runs on eight hits over six innings, striking out nine. Connor Lang threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

#30 was on the pitcher’s mound for Green River. He allowed four hits and four runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out five. #23 threw two and a third innings out of the bullpen.

Post 43 Giants Giants 18U socked one home run on the day. Fisher went yard in the sixth inning.

Post 43 totaled 13 hits in the game. Bleggi, Ellingson, Fisher, and Feuz each racked up multiple hits. Feuz, Fisher, Ellingson, and Bleggi each collected two hits to lead team. The Giants didn’t commit a single error in the field. Fisher had 12 chances in the field, the most on the team. Ellingson led the team with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases.

Green River totaled ten hits. #33 and #6 all had multiple hits for Green River.
