Will Walker was dialed in at the plate on Sunday, tallying four hits and leading Post 43 Giants 18U to a 21-5 win over Green River. Walker singled in the first, singled in the second, singled in the third, and singled in the fourth.
Green River scored three runs in the second inning, but Post 43 still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Green River came thanks to a single by #3, an error on a ball put in play by #6, and a double by #1.
The Giants 18U fired up the offense in the first inning, when Matt Ellingson singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
Seth Christiansen led the the team to victory on the pitcher’s mound. He lasted four innings, allowing six hits and five runs while striking out eight.
#22 was on the hill for Green River. He allowed five hits and eight runs. #31, #60, #1, and #33 each entered the game as relief, throwing one and two-thirds innings, one and one-third innings, two-thirds of an inning, and one-third of an inning respectively.
The Giants collected 19 hits. Walker, Quentin Bruno, Ellingson, Brian Feuz, Evan McHugh, Anthony Bleggi, and Jon Fisher all had multiple hits. Walker went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Post 43 Giants 18U in hits.
