Post 43 Giants 18U Grabs Lead In Fourth Inning To Defeat Park City Utah

Post 43 Giants 18U took the lead late and defeated Park City Utah 10-8 on Saturday. The game was tied at five with Post 43 batting in the top of the fourth when Matt Ellingson grounded out, scoring one run.

Despite falling down by five runs in the fifth inning, Park City Utah tried to fight back. Park City Utah scored three runs in the failed comeback on a double by #8 and a error.

After Post 43 scored three runs in the top of the fifth, Park City Utah answered with three of their own. Post 43 scored when Gus Armijo grounded out, scoring one run, an error scored one run for Post 43, and Jon Fisher tripled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run. Park City Utah then answered when #8 doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run and an error scored two runs for Park City Utah.

Nate Fairbanks earned the win for Post 43. He went three innings, allowing five runs on nine hits and striking out five. Connor Lang and Brian Feuz entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Feuz recorded the last out to earn the save.

#2 was on the hill for Park City Utah. He allowed seven hits and seven runs over four innings, striking out five and walking one. #31 threw one inning in relief.

Post 43 tallied nine hits in the game. Fisher and Anthony Bleggi each racked up multiple hits. Fisher led the team with three hits in four at bats.

Park City Utah tallied 11 hits on the day. #19, #22, and #8 all managed multiple hits for Park City Utah.
