Post 43 Giants 18U Stays Scrappy In Loss To Orem Utah

Post 43 Giants fought back after falling down by five runs in the fourth inning. The comeback fell just short though, in a 6-4 defeat to Orem Utah on Thursday. Post 43 scored three runs in the failed comeback on a single by Evan McHugh in the sixth, a single by Quentin Bruno in the seventh, and a single by Seth Christiansen in the seventh.

The Giants fell behind early in the loss. Orem Utah took the lead on a triple in the second inning.

The Giants got things moving in the first inning. Nate Fairbanks drove in one when he singled.

#27 was on the mound for Orem Utah. He allowed ten hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking one.

Anthony Bleggi started the game for Post 43. He surrendered six runs on eight hits over six innings, striking out three.

Post 43  saw the ball well today, racking up ten hits in the game. Christiansen, Bruno, and Fairbanks all collected multiple hits. Fairbanks, Bruno, and Christiansen each collected two hits to lead the team.

Orem Utah racked up eight hits. #44 and #7 all managed multiple hits for Orem Utah.

Post 43 Giants 18U Takes Over in Rock Springs.

Post 43 Giants 18U sailed to an easy victory in the second game of a double header over Rock Springs 14-3 on Wednesday.

Post 43  got things started in the first inning when #6 induced Javen King to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.

The Giants put up five runs in the fourth inning. Gus Armijo, Will Walker, Evan McHugh, and Jon Fisher each had RBIs in the frame.

Seth Christiansen was credited with the victory. He surrendered three runs on eight hits over five innings, striking out three.

#6 started the game for Rock Springs. He allowed four hits and seven runs over one and one-third innings. #1 and #20 entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and one and two-thirds innings respectively.

Post 43 tallied 11 hits on the day. Armijo and Anthony Bleggi all managed multiple hits.  Armijo went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the team in hits.

#15 led Rock Springs with two hits in three at bats.


Post 43 Giants 18U Claims Victory Over Rock Springs In Blow-Out Fashion, 13-3

Post 43 Giants 18U cruised to an easy victory over Rock Springs 13-3 on Wednesday.

Post 43 notched five runs in the sixth inning.  The offense in the inning was led by Matt Ellingson, Anthony Bleggi, Seth Christiansen, Evan McHugh, and Jon Fisher, who all drove in runs.

Brian Feuz was on the hill for the Giants. He went two innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out three and walking zero.

#13 was on the mound for Rock Springs. He went four innings, allowing six runs on eight hits and striking out one. #5 and #11 entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one inning and one inning respectively.

Post 43 hit one home run on the day. Ellingson had a long ball in the sixth inning.

The Giants racked up 12 hits in the game. Quentin Bruno, Javen King, Bleggi, and Fisher all collected multiple hits.  Fisher, Bleggi, King, and Bruno all had two hits to lead the team.

Rock Springs collected eight hits on the day. #11 and #7 each collected multiple hits for Rock Springs.


Post 43 Giants Grab Lead In Sixth Inning To Defeat Twin Falls Blackhawks

Post 43 Giants 18U stole the lead late in the game in a 10-7 victory over Twin Falls Blackhawks on Sunday. The game was tied at seven with Post 43 batting in the bottom of the sixth when Quentin Bruno singled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.

Twin Falls Blackhawks scored four runs in the first inning, but the Giants still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Twin Falls Blackhawks came thanks to walks by #14, #18, and #5 and a single by #12.

Twin Falls Blackhawks opened up scoring in the first inning, when #14 drew a walk, scoring one run.

Evan McHugh took the win for Post 43. He allowed four hits and three runs over five and a third innings. Matt Ellingson threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Ellingson recorded the last three outs to earn the save.

#18 was on the pitcher’s mound for Twin Falls Blackhawks. He lasted five innings, allowing eight hits and nine runs while striking out two. #5 threw one inning in relief.

Javen King started the game for the Giants. He went two-thirds of an inning, allowing four runs on two hits and striking out one

Post 43 collected ten hits on the day. Seth Christiansen, Bruno, McHugh, and Jon Fisher each managed multiple hits for the team. Christiansen went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the team in hits.

Billings Halos Captures Lead Early To Defeat Post 43 Giants

Post 43 Giants 18U fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 8-4 loss to Billings Halos on Saturday. Billings Halos scored on a walk by #12 in the first inning, a single by #33in the first inning, and a fielder’s choice by #6 in the second inning.

Billings Halos got things started in the first inning when #12 drew a walk, scoring one run.

Post 43 put up three runs in the sixth inning and scored its runs on a triple by Matt Ellingson.

Billings Halos scored four runs in the third inning. #11, #1, and #6 all drove in runs in the frame.

#15 was on the hill for Billings Halos. He surrendered four runs on three hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out eight.

Nate Fairbanks led things off on the mound for Post 43 Giants. He lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and eight runs while striking out two. Connor Lang threw four and a third innings in relief allowing four hits, one walk, and no runs.

Ellingson went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Giants in hits.

Billings Halos collected ten hits. #2, #6, and #33 each had multiple hits for Billings Halos.


Christiansen’s Walk-Off Seals The Deal In Post 43 Victory Over Pleasant Grove Utah

Post 43 Giants 18U took their game in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off error at the end of the game to topple Pleasant Grove Utah. The game was tied at nine with the Giants batting in the bottom of the fifth when an error scored one run for the win.

Post 43 earned the victory despite allowing Pleasant Grove Utah to score seven runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught by Pleasant Grove Utah was led by #11, #7, #2, #30, and #11, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Post 43 opened up an early lead in the first inning when Anthony Bleggi grounded out, scoring one run.

Post 43 evened things up at nine in the bottom of the fourth inning when Evan McHugh doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Quentin Bruno pitched Post 43 to victory. He surrendered two runs on three hits over two innings, striking out two.

#2 led things off on the mound for Pleasant Grove Utah. He went three and two-thirds innings, allowing nine runs on seven hits and striking out five. #4 threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Bleggi started the game for Post 43. He allowed six hits and seven runs over three innings, striking out one

Post 43ssaw the ball well today, racking up nine hits in the game. Seth Christiansen and Nate Fairbanks each had multiple hits and Christiansen led the team with three hits in four at bats.


Post 43 Giants 18U Nabs Win Over Twin Falls Blackhawks Despite Early 3-Run Inning

Post 43 Giants 18U weathered a push by Twin Falls Blackhawks in the seventh inning where Post 43 coughed up three runs, but Post 43 still won 8-5 on Thursday. Twin Falls Blackhawks scored its runs on a single by #10.

Twin Falls Blackhawks got things started in the second inning. #5 drove in one when he singled.

In the bottom of the second inning, the Giants tied things up at one when an error scored one run.

Post pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Jon Fisher doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.

Post 43 tallied five runs in the fifth inning.  Giants batters contributing to the big inning included Seth Christiansen, Evan McHugh, and Fisher, who all drove in runs.

Christiansen was the winning pitcher for the Giants. He surrendered five runs on nine hits over six and two-thirds innings, striking out six. Will Walker threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen. Walker recorded the last out to earn the save.

#6 started the game for Twin Falls Blackhawks. He surrendered eight runs on nine hits over six innings, striking out one.

Post 43 launched one home run on the day. Fisher went yard in the fifth inning.
